Tis’ New Year’s Eve, Indeed-y

Sunday, December 31st, 2006

14 hours and the month and year shall end =D Then its 2007.
Woot. Fireworks!!
Apparently, there’s a new form of fireworks that they’re going to use for the Sydney Harbour Bridge celebrations.
I wonder what they’ll resemble since last year’s were rather lacklustre. shrug
Oh well, the fireworks are still awesomeness regardless of how they look.

But nuts, its a new year…
Eek Starting university o.O

There’s an open day on the 3rd..but that’s the same day with ALL the unis I applied to – and they’re all quite a distance from each other T_T Still don’t know which preference I shall get – but hopefully its the first one, though I’ll be perfectly fine with economics.

Ended up picking UNSW for the first pref! o.O
So much for the University of Sydney.. but I suppose, quality teaching > less travel time.

Resolutions? Hmm.

1. Firstly, its studying my arse off in uni because the UAI was depressing, E.A.S. is almost like conditional enrolment, and I’d only have to go 3-4 days a week for something like commerce, even though its full time so why shouldn’t I try and do well?

2. Play DDR more? Now that I’ve got the dance mat, its practicing time, else Tina keeps pwning me in ddr at arcades insert wail Might curb that innate laziness that’s telling me to just sit there and stare off into computer-monitor-space … or fanfic reading.

3. shrug No clue… Perhaps, develop better hobbies than being on the computer. Drawing is fine, but one should get out more, even though thats a paaaaainnn.

Speaking of drawing, I checked out Photoshop CS 3 — the BETA – and its awesomeness =D
1. It loads faster than CS2
2. It has more features
3. It has a new user interface – one that’s effective
4. It works so much more smoother with my tablet =D

PayPerPost

Saturday, December 30th, 2006

PayPerPost is a blog marketing website, which is pretty effective =)

Well, I’m new to it, having finally been accepted, but it’s received quite a lot of media over the positives and negatives of it.

Personally, I believe this form of blog advertising is pretty effective. At least, more so than the google ads.
As for obtrusiveness? It is but one clearly defined link… It’s not as if the whole post gets made into a big giant link to click on for a few hundred or so words now, does it?
After all, an ad banner would be worse. Or popups It’s just, people can actually block those effectively. xD [if you use Firefox, that is.]

Furthermore, unlike the advertisers-nominate-a-blog the opportunities are open so anyone can blog. Of course, from an advertiser’s view point, that might be a bad thing. Except, there would be more autonomy when it comes to the actual act of advertising. Eg. This blog is PR4 which isn’t that bad. xD
But yes, it is this factor that I like best about PPP. =)

Soo, check it out! inserts terms and conditions that you have to have 20 posts in 90 days and etc. _

Sponsored Post.

Edit: Soul? What does that have to do with a blog like this one? It’s not like this happens to be a diary.

Chau won’t be coming back for 11 years?!

Thursday, December 28th, 2006

Joey. 11 years. Biomedical Engineering degree. Chau. 11 years.

WTF.

11 years for a degree!? T_T Shall visit her in Melbourne one day though xD Heh.

Okay, anyway, yesterday, we went to Chatswood to meet Joey. Haven’t seen her in about 3 years – Year 12 – Year 9 = 3 years, riight? xD

Firstly, train + bus = really time consuming, and makes me wonder what going to UNSW will be like when its university time in about two months (and damnit, its UNIVERSITY - NOT - college. A college is a live-in location akin to boarding school and I’d rather just deal with the travel than live immediately with people who I don’t know. Else, college is tafe. And that’s…unfavourable.)

Then we went to eat yum cha at a place called Kam Fook. Hn. The internet ratings were correct. The service there sucked. Was it because we were all young? And in a large group? Pftt.

shrug What would like me to say? The happy things in a blog rather than the complaining bits that stir up some drama? Some LIVELINESS? Stumbled upon a post once about blogs. The ones of a typical life are boring. Everyone lives them. Speaking of boring, we ended up just standing there in Westfields shopping centre for hours trying to decide what to do.

Oh? The happy bit? Joey was about _ _ Yaaay! Missed her lots and lots nod nod and then there’s the fact that she didn’t say much about herself sooo coinkydinkly. Oh and the poster of Legolas bopping. Reminiscing would be the term to describe the talking. =)
- CUT-
Back to the moping stuff that fits a blog.

Or not.

Ended up staying out till about 7pm in the end _‘ Chatswood –> City –> Home.
What’s there to do in the city? Quite a bit.

So overall? Got dragged shopping, played some arcade games (<3 vs. fighting games xD Pwnage. ‘Cept by Elva T_T hehe xD DDr (oooh today, the ddr mat came in the mail! Hip Hip Hooray!)), went to a net cafe but since we were being pressed for time, it wasn’t particularly fun. Started diablo, played bejewelled. Tried counterstrike. City Hunter is rather lousy compared to Intergate if anyone goes to Sydney’s net cafes. Might try out istarzone in the cinemas. Oh yeah, insert argument over the movies.
