AVOID Ice design! As in that “clothes” store. It’s terrible.

Saturday, December 29th, 2007

I shall backlog now, perhaps as a reminder, of the 29th of December, 2007. It was a lovely day, sans the final store I went into. Really shouldn’t have either. I mean, horrid eyesore patterned dresses were hanging out of the display windows after all!

So the day began as I went bowling at Manhattan Superbowl in Liverpool with my friends. That was awesome. Due to the scoring board being temporarily off due to electrical problems, we had free bowling xD That thusly resulted in me spending more on the arcade games they had at the back xD

This tenpin bowling club has the retro feel going on. Neon lights, darkness, diner type tables, and so forth. I shall forget mentioning certain details such as the score I got in the end though =P Got a purpley bouncy ball with googley eyes as a result of the arcade whacking though.

Lunch was at Westfields shopping centre. After eons of years, there was.. gasp… KFC!
Went shopping afterwards. Bought various things, though hardly all that much in terms of post Christmas sales. What annoys me most of the day was walking in into that stupid Ice Designs store. The change rooms were rarely available, with the mirrors on the OUTSIDE, and when I got sick of waiting, the store assistant skanks were laughing at me behind my back. Hmph. Clearly never going THERE again. Of course, it appears the statement is true, that Ice is even worse than Supre. And I HATE Supre. I didn’t even want to go into that store. Just wish I had the foresight to have gone outside. Could have probably bought more in that horrid time waiting.

After watching store assistants that push people into buying clothes that don’t fit them, like ‘helping’ the girl I saw trying dress after dress, with each attempt into a multicoloured horror called a maxi dress, with the her arms and boobs oozing out, well.. it sure wasn’t a pretty sight, I reaallyy didn’t want to stay there any longer. That dress was damn fugly, and I wonder why Elva had to buy one of those, albeit the shorter types. Thankfully, she has a much better figure than that chick I saw, however, the dress design itself was ugly. Sure it’s cheap, but it looks terrible fabric and design wise. Oh well. Suit herself. But yes. icedesign.com.au? Avoid! Avoid! I suppose it’s only Australia that has to suffer it. =(

Post-Christmas.

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Well, now Christmas is over and it’s post Christmas sales time. Can’t say I celebrated Christmas much this year. Think it’s because of my endlessly long 3 month summer holidays before the start of a new university year and the lack of seeing my ever busy friends.

Out of the Christmas haul, the most interesting one would be my camera:
Canon Powershot A550 A Canon Powershot A550. Might mean I’ll take interesting pictures now, except I am still as pathetic with a camera as I have always been. Images appear either shaky [guess I better step up the ISO/noise], blurry, or the flash was on when it ought not be. Oh well. Never did like photography much. The pen is my preferred tool. Like my tablet pc <3

It really annoys me when things online have to be credit card only and not paypal or even bank deposit. Reminds me to charge up my bopo prepaid credit card if I want to get some interestingly cheap clothes from ezi-buy which has a nothing over $30AUD sale. Pretty good when it comes to pants, jackets and dresses. Not so when it comes to shirts though if my card were charged up, I would be bound to buy some anyway. shrug

However, of the post-christmas sales, I suppose what I’m looking for is a laptop/messenger/shoulder bag.. with drink pockets on the sides! My current messenger bag bulks up horridly when my umbrella and drink bottle are inside it, and the shoulder strap rather hurts. Think I might look into a tote. Not quite my type of thing though..

Someone mention a layout block? Yeah well now I have one -mutters-

Thursday, December 20th, 2007

Now I have a layout block because someone told me not to. U_U. What I currently have of a layout looks nice, but now I don’t feel bothered continuing so yet again, you and I are stuck with the red or the blue themes currently present. Also, congrats Class of 2007. You have the highest hsc marks since 2001. Except Trinity’s 07ers. You lot suck. A drop of 10 in the school ranking? Of course, it just means that uai cutoffs will be higher since there’s higher marks in general. :/

Anyway, I’ve been drawing. Oh and being bored bored and heaps bored. =sigh= 3 months of summer holidays U_U and only 1 month has passed. Usually I only GET one month of summer holidays and the after HSC period was boring torture. Busy busy busy, all my friends be. But even when not, idealess is like the stump of a tree.

I still have ages till March the 3rd comes around. And even then, it’s o-week and not university classes. Don’t know what to do other than sit there and..vegetate. >_> Hm.. second year of uni. Though doubtful, it would be nice if the next lists came out Speaking of classes, as of yesterday, I’m enrolled in ACCT2522, FINS1613, LEGT1711 and …PSYC1001.
blinks Psychology.

What a change. I was going to enrol in a 2nd year politics subject instead too :/ Then I could have 2 day weeks.

But then along came psych instead, and now I shall have 4 day weeks instead of my usual 3 day weeks. 2 extra lectures T_T But.. psychology is bound to be more interesting than politics..right? Although.. 4 final exams now?! Rather than 3? Awwwwwwww. Less essays though..But I like my commerce subjects more so surely it can’t be too bad? Of course, classes are split everywhere and basically, Wednesday and Tuesday are the most busy. However, perhaps now I’ll involve myself more at uni rather than go only to classes.

Did you know that UNSW is introducing a secondary transcript to put down things that aren’t just academics? Well guess that forces my hand. Not that I didn’t already plan to join up with some things. But at least now I’ll be bothered enough to participate. It’s not like I have anything better to do. I mean, I could have gone last year, but then that just means travelling more for very little reason. Least now I can make use of my plentiful breaks.

So…drawings?
Story covers, basically, I suppose. They look better at a regular size than they do in thumbnails. And I over use dark blue. :/ Certainly, the newest one, would fit better in a shade of red?

One’s called Killing for colour and you can find the short story over at the young writer’s society as for the other story, I can’t remember shrug Think it’s called In Chaos.

Got to say, I don’t quite remember since these aren’t my stories =P Killing For Colour is by Sarah, and the other one is by her friend who’s name escapes me.

Shall just copy the details from deviantart.Since chronologically, I made the in the midst of chaos one.. um, I don’t know.. about 1/2 a month ago?

in chaos I don’t really tend to do works that people just ask me to.. but, for a friend re: PenguinAttack, I make this for her. Uses painter ix and photoshop cs2 + my tablet pc. Took me a tad bit, especially with my hopelessness with drawing males. In the Midst of Chaos is a story that a friend of the friend I made it for wrote I suppose, and these are the two characters two fraternal twins in a futuristic world where Christians are outcasts. Can you spot the crosses? xD
story found at http://www.youngwriterssociety.com/search.php?search_id=usertopics&user=4882

killing for colour Made in sketchbook pro and photoshop. Mannequins on stands. Or dead females. shrug It is the former, not the latter though the title might suggest.

Ah yes. Also, I usually upload on deviantart under the name lavenderpup first. Their recently changed [re: half a year is recent =P] layout makes it easier to use.
