Sydney Morning Herald’s Homebake 07 CD can only be called –

Repetitive.

Australian music talent must be lacking in the lyrics department because quite a lot of the songs repeat the same two lines again and again. I thought this was over since bubblegum pop of the 1990s? Then again, the Spice Girls are unfortunately back are they not?

Let’s see, of all the songs left that I’ll listen to:

Divinyls – All Pretty Things
Old Man River – Sunshine
The Scare – Bats! Bats! Bats! [although that sure gets repetitive :/]
Wicked Beat Sound System – Won’t Let Go
Pivot – Montecore

So what have I removed from my playlist? [Yep.. first thing I do is rearrange up a playlist on my comp since I don't know where my cd player has been for years] Clearly, it is just my opinion of things but perhaps the repetitive lyrics of some songs just get to me a tad. Or the tone.
Oh well. I’m definitely sure that some people might like the music. But I’m a grumpy unenthusiast of music.

Pnau – Wild Strawberries. The acapella singing is nice singing but it gets a little bit onto the repetitive side.
Red Eye Society – Good Times Roll – Hiphop isn’t quite my time of thing, ya know?
Blue King Brown – Come And Check Your Head – Similarly, I don’t quite like it.

Not too bad but I’m still not keeping on my limited HDD. The CD’s obviously a different story:
Belles Will Ring – Mad Love – That guitar solo music part is rather irritating.
The Beautiful Girls – In Love – Vocals are peaceful. Still repeating the title annoyingly though.
Soft Tigers – Mr Ice Cream. Basically speaking. Nice melody at the back but.. that’s about it.

I’ve just realised that the topics of songs have gotten a tad ludicrous. -blinks- *shakes head*

Foreign Heights – Get Yours – Repetitive lyrics. I did repeat that about the whole lot of songs after all.
The Checks – Tired From Sleeping – Yeah, alright, I realise. You’re tired from sleeping. Certainly happens when one sleeps for too long on a boring and extremely long holiday period. However, no need to repeat that many times.

The Brunettes – B-A-B-Y – Well, I diid delete it already so I can’t quite remember what I thought of it now. -blinks-
Subaudible Hum – Killer Bees – Okay, I realise the chorus would have repeating lyrics but this really doesn’t restore my faith in the mainstream music. And even if it isn’t mainstream, it doesn’t change the fact that most bits aren’t that great and I should stick to jrock and instrumentals/soundtracks.

In conclusion? Only Pivot – Montecore will I look into further. I particularly like the music in the first few seconds.

Out and about, but that’s a tale for another day.

So, today I went out and about and might talk about it but cannot be bothered at the moment as my focus is currently on the site, which will -gasp- actually go through a revamp after who knows when.

As such, I’ve narrowed down the navigation [rather sad to see it go actually], simply because I want more shorter looking navigations. Also moved around some content, and may actually get around to the tedious task of adding categories to all the posts and perhaps moving them into their rightful categories xD

The new layout will be rather heavy on the graphics side and fluidity depends on my mood and a shorter navigation may help. Or hinder.

So what shall it be based on? Well, I had a variety of ideas, but I’ve finally settled on the concept of — The Garden of Everything xD [And here you are, daylight star, made out of miracles. Perfection of your own, you alone, oh so incredible~]
The song by Maaya Sakamoto and Steve Conte — The Garden of Everything xD

Here you are
Daylight Star
Made out of miracles
Perfection of your own
You alone
Oh, so incredible
Each atom sings to me
Set me free
From chains of the physical
Oh, free me…Oh, free me…

The mirror melts
Somewhere else
Inside eternity
Where you, on outstretched wings,
Sing within
The garden of everything
Where memories call to me
Backward dreams
Or phantom reality
Call to me…Call to me…

The two verses I’ve been thinking of.

Main feature? Fuchsias =D Such pretty pretty flowers they are, so I was just temped to draw it up.

Unfortunately, I really wanted to make a web 2.0 skin, but other than the typical format, [pretty as it is..], and a few scatterings of minute, puny drawings, [rather like this layout in a way.. though this is rather ugly, and I did trash all my non-fluid skins =(] I think I’ll go back to the tried and true, valid but messily coded graphics intensive [but optimisably small!] websites.

As for the fuchsias? Well here they are: [completely forgotten the names until now.. and when I found it, I decided to draw it! xD [since the vision in my mind is rather skewed]].

fuchsia drawing.
Drawn in Alias Sketchbook Pro on my tablet pc and um.. yea.

Equally, I was thinking of using the EGL girl that a drew and posted up about two posts back.

LED Christmas lights

The environment. Of all countries, it is just the United States which has not signed the Kyoto Protocol on dealing with a more environmentally friendly regime nowadays.
However, I suppose there are many ways to have a more environmentally friendly Christmas.
Christmas lights, for one, come in the form of incandescent lights usually, but LED Christmas lights can be better in that they consume 80-90% less energy and are more reusable.

Back when I was in highschool, I used to always drive by a house on Blaxcell Street near Christmas time, and it would be decorated so heavily. A pretty sight, but you wonder how much energy is being consumed in this commercialised Christmas spirit.

Perhaps it would be better had the Santas be lit through solar energy – they were certainly exposed enough to the sunshine.

Or perhaps if the tinsel was biodegradable, there would be less of a footprint upon the earth.

Then there’s all that plastic. Of course, paper is no solution — I believe I read somewhere, lifehacker, perhaps, about a newspaper brick making tool to replace using logs burning in a fire. Could be okay, but perhaps paper maché at a larger level works better. Carbon Dioxide anyone?

Of course, a greener Christmas could be made more greener with more grass and a real tree. Evergreens grown in a pot? Haha. Wonder if any nurseries could create that!

These ideas are all unrealistic, but oddly amusing.
