Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

How about spending NYE with the YAA09 kids? Um. Sandy might say no.
Went rockclimbing yesterday (or rather the day before since its 2am right now) with the UNSW faction. Shoutouts to them.
My arms are sore. Not that they weren’t already.
Elva ran away after a parental argument. She’s safe though so all is good.

Day before that – Elva’s Christmas party. I don’t celebrate Christmas. But it’s like being a child again playing lots of games.
And not drinking games. Shocking. With the only alcohol being red wine which I did not drink… Hey, since when did you need alcohol to have fun again?

Wii tennis and Virtua Tennis? Not sure of the latter’s name. Those games make my arms ache from lack of use. Not good for rockclimbs.

I’m building a desktop. It’s going to be pretty awesome though not the super comp but still really awesome. But I don’t have a case, RAM or a faster HDD yet. Nor do I have speakers.

So how’s the rig?

Monitor: Benq g2200w – had already
Kb/mouse: hp comfort desktop – had already
CPU: Core i5 750
MOBO: Gigabyte P55-UD3r
PSU: Antec Truepower 750w
GPU: HS ATI Radeon HD5770
DVD: LG DVD writer
Case: Coolermaster R690
RAM: G.skill Ripjaw 4gb
HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB
Speakers: Altec  Lansing BXR1221
Tablet: Wacom Intuos4 small

Gotta build it before work starts else I’ll be too tired adjusting to the 8.30am-5/5.30pm five day weeks. Can’t stand waking up early but my sleeping pattern manages to fix itself for those early early starts.

Art – preview
It’s horrific either way.
You might get a twist. This is heavily zoomed in anyway.
Is this the last of my tablet pc? Nah. Never. Just a halt till I get a replacement laptop keyboard part and maybe some thermal paste for the fan :/ Oh and definitely some compressed air.

Water rafting

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

So, yesterday a couple of friends from high school and I decided to go white water rafting at Penrith since that was the only place you can do that in Sydney :/

1 hour long drive back and forth and then 90mins of paddling and trying to stay on!
At one point it was a game of trying to stay on without any oar in hand. o.O
But we didn’t capsize so that was good!
However, I did lose my shoes. As in, they started floating away because I didn’t stick them on tightly enough….and they broke in the turbulence.
Perhaps this is teaches me to wear sneakers next time so that even though disgustingly wet, at least they’d stay on [relatively.. if the laces were tight?]
And so, today, my muscles hurt =( Including my neck o.O

It’s a warm day.

Saturday, November 21st, 2009

It’s a warm day.
Well, that’s an understatement.

It was 41 degrees and 5 minutes of walking in the sun felt like skin burning off.

It’s also one of my last days of relative holiday freedom before I move off into a restrained reality.
However, it does mean that 5 days a week I shall be without the freedoms usually so shared each summer.

Like drawing.

That said, I’m sure I’ll find the time.

Soo these are in my drawing Moleskine [yes I've succumbed to its trendiness]. Drawn using Copic markers. In those colours because I don’t happen to have any colours other than skin colours (classified under red), greys, and one very lone and very not Copic, lime green Pantone marker. Also outlined in Copic multiliners.

Ahh. If only I actually used these pens for drawing manga instead. Except… no colours and I draw flowers better.
After all, the human body is the hardest thing to draw, whereas still life will remain one of the easiest.
