Coffee deprives me of sleep and speeds up my heart rate.

Friday, February 27th, 2009

Definitely don’t like coffee.
It keeps me up more than my usual energy and insomnia. Why is it that subject coordinators don’t put up the courses on the webct though it is already end of oweek? The course outline in particular [and when assessments are due!] would be of particular use and there has been much complaint last year with the 12 week system and the lack of this useful information!

Helping out with Oweek was lovely. It was nice to run into all these people and also into new people.
I think I’ve also gained some confidence back when it comes to communicating verbally. Not that I lost that ability or anything but these holidays I’ve felt like it’d be nice to just be a hermit.
Well, world? I’m back in the game.

Hm. Hm. I don’t really want to do the careers guide design. I’m always designing. Then again, it’s very easy. Want to write more actually. I did do extension 2 English and used to always edit people’s essays so it isn’t as if I’m lacking in the ability to. However, this is just adding to my plate and so would writing. Especially come the time I have to arrange the text on all 48-50 pages. Oh joy, I’m so cheering at the fact that that will probably be around the time assignments are all due. Besides, now there’s IT Clicks which is in a stasis I suppose but not entirely.

I went by Oweek at usyd. There’s is better than unsw’s this time unfortunately. They had the octopus and dodgem cars! A proper sized stage and sitting area… more stalls, and so forth! Although SIFE Usyd so sexed up their marketing campaign with their posters, they stuck posters in places we’re not allowed to at UNSW and so its more noticeable. Eg. On the floor of their main walkway.

Haven’t been blogging nearly as much as I should have.

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

It’s not to say my life hasn’t been eventful, because it has, but I just haven’t found the interest or time to blog all that often.

For example, for the past week I’ve been helping with some ASPIRE workshops because they’re intriguing and I get to help and that makes me feel helpful lol. Oh and I suppose its a perspective psychologically but that probably shouldn’t be mentioned. Basically going to schools and assisting the ASPIRE staff present with their workshops.

Oh and I went for an exhilarating 35 minutes of jetboating yesterday and also happened to lose my wallet which had my driver’s license [which I juust got and I liked the photo damnit =(..and I can't cancel it yet because the RTA is closed on weekends] along with practically all my cards =_= Granted, it could be worse but I keep remembering what else I had in the wallet. Cancelled the keycard [not that they could use it anyway] and well, it should be fine although I don’t really want to go to uni since I’ll have to pay full price for the train and bus ticket on Monday and oh god, I’ll have to wait in the oweek id line. Urgh. Guess I’ll have to go early morning.

Yes its Oweek. Which means I’m going back to uni and more busy than ever but I might start blogging more because it’ll be moderately more fun =D

Hm. Oweek. I have to go for 4 days. Not for long for some days, but still, I have to go unfortunately sigh

Oh and posting assignment reminders to myself.
I think infs1602 will be fairly fun if they do indeed have a 40% website assignment. Oh and the textbook content really looks like Year 10 computer studies.
Hm. Ew. Textbooks. I might just not get arc membership this year since it’ll be $149 and considering the number of lost licenses and stuff I need to get, I don’t think I can afford that when it doesn’t necessarily bring me much benefit anyway. Besides they’ll put in compulsory student unionism again as of next semester I think?

Well anyway without the ARC membership its $260 for all my textbooks [...yes even getting whatever I can second-hand. I might actually skip on the infs textbook but then I'd feel so... without.] oh and well.. more like $300 to get my license and student id again since they count as lost now. sigh
And with? Well, that bumps things up to about $450 overall. I.e. Ouch. I think I spent just far too much these holidays just going out. Not only monetarily but also energy wise. sigh

Whinge. Whinge.

Sick again. Why has my immune system deteriorated so?

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Granted, the Victorian bush fires could really do with some cold wind [although it actually made things worse initially and had no real difference in some cases since they were deliberate arson attacks], but what good is a cold wind in Sydney besides getting people sick?

I could be at laser tag in the city right now. Well… waiting for laser tag since apparently they still haven’t started so I suppose that’s a bit of a failzy moment there in itself instead of well, sitting in front of the computer in delirious contemplation. On the other hand its just too cold to get up and out of the door. Brr. Oh and the insane time of having to be up at 9am. I just can’t do it.

So ever remember the painting I did? Well before I painted over the drawing I took a rather bad phone camera picture of the sketch. And now? Now I’ve painted over it.

The old stuff from February 2008:

I’ve also drawn some corner cutting images as per usual just so I don’t have to deal with the eyes [Hm, just realised she's naked. Oh well.]
purple tears Rather like the hair although I suppose its too voluminous at the length that it would be. But then again the drawing’s neck is stretched just a tad too much.

In a cross between Rikku in final fantasy 10 and some sort of resident evil type of thing and overt skinniness which I didn’t realise because the figurine which I based the pose on is rather skinny, yay, cave battle.
cave Making this one was rather fun! Probably because of the patterning. Maybe I’ll consider more mixed media type things rather than my stubborn use of a one pure technique with whatever I’m using. Eg. In this case it’s mostly been Alias Sketchbook Pro’s airbrush tool…which gets boring after a while. I would love to use Corel Painter but then I’d have to clear out my computer and turn it into the trash bag called Windows Vista. gets shot for saying that

And my last comment – everyone who sees my dog thinks she’s fat =(
I don’t think she is…

Today’s interesting read is http://www.fmylife.com. Which is somewhat like failblog but with people’s lives Oh yeaaa. I have no life to be reading it. shrug Oddly entertaining though.
