10 days without posting – I have been bad haven’t I?

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Apologies for having not posted for the last 10 days, but since the beginning of last week until the end of this week [yes, tsk tsk for procrastinating a tad =p] I’ve been having my mid-semester exams and assignments to either complete or hand-in. 3 down, 1 more to go. I wish I could speak positively about it, but my group members are just so hopeless which negatively impacts my viewpoint of the subject.

Politics assignment – handed in last Tuesday. Feedback? Unheard of so soon for a 2000 word essay.

Accounting exam – last Friday. Multiple choice answers are up. Written part? Not even marked yet. Hopefully its marked in two weeks.

Legal exam – yesterday. It’s multiple choice but… I know I definitely have 3 wrong already [out of 30]. With luck its 12/15% like my assignment was but I’m not so certain since I didn’t account for it, and well, errors are only errors if they’re unexpected. At least, that’s the case according to the accounting standards – accounting for changes in accounting policy, estimates and errors.

And the source of my complaints for the last half of the semester [and the next 6 weeks]? Information systems. In the case, its the 30% assignment. However, there is a 10% group homework hand-in that spans for 5 pages each week that I tend to get stuck doing in its entirety. sigh

End of an easter break

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

I hope that everyone has had a Happy Easter! So my one week break is coming to an end and I have my politics assignment, accounting exam, legal exam and information systems assignment to get done in the next two weeks. Eek.

Notes for accounting have been mostly written.
I really really need to work on my politics assignment as it happens to be due first — on the Monday in technicalities, and at 9am on Wednesday otherwise except I am able to go to uni before that time because the bus lines are always so long and there is a chance I could be late… So I suppose the midway due point will have to be Tuesday.

I wonder if I need to attach a cover sheet?

Legal exam notes.. well being completely multiple choice, perhaps I can live with the lecture slides, but I prefer shorter summarised notes so that needs some effort too. I believe I’ve done weeks 1 and 2 but there’s weeks 3-5 of lectures to go…

Information systems assignment. Oh of all the assignments, I must say I detest this. We haven’t even managed to organise who is going to do what and it’s due in week 7. All my other group assignments [I think I have 3 this semester] don’t possess this level of communication – that is to say, the lack of communication. One whole day of group work on Thursday and barely a dozen words were said. How is that group work? It’s more like mutual quiet time, assignmenting away in the same little booked room.

Oh and my keyboard keys feel awfully sticky these days. Not as in a physically sticky residue sort of way but more like the fact that the keys just don’t flow as fluidly as they used to. Might need to look into getting some compressed air or changing the keyboard [but hopefully not so extreme since this is my laptop I'm talking about and I am not so sure about disassembling that past HDD and ram upgrades [which are already complete.]

It’s a pity that the week has come to an end.

Ahhh break. Some sleep is good for one’s mood indeed

Thursday, April 9th, 2009

So it is finally easter break, one week of rest, recovery, revision and putting in a hard slog through the assignments, and exams, amongst other things, that have built up.

However, just today I’ll rest up and sleep. Oh… and do my accounting homework because that’s rather pleasant.
I am going terribly in infs. I don’t know anything and the tutorials are not of that particularly great help. I need to comb the textbook carefully I believe if I can get any marks. sigh But its so heavy and I don’t want to bring it >.<
Oh well. I want all distinctions at the least, and I will achieve that!
