Seeing Stars
Made - 25th of June, 2004
The first skin, Seeing Stars, named because of the font, features Thora Birch who is an actress. The main image is an airbrush of an image from atpictures.com.
However, the difference from a normal airbrush is the vexelled hair which I did because my attempts at airbrushing the hair failed and she had messed up wavy hair which looked nothing like the original. I used a pattern and some gradients to do the background and textarea, and the swirls and stars in the background were made with a combination of gradients, duplication, hard light and the drop shadow for a glow.
The font that was used is MoonStar, which can be acquired from DaFont.com and this too used the method above with duplication, hard light and drop shadows.
Hidden Messages
Made - 3rd of July, 2004
This second skin, Hidden Messages, features a stylised illustration of my name, which was created in Paint Shop Pro 7 using the pen tool. The font for digitalskies.net is Parseltongue, which may also be found at Dafont.com. This was created for the selfish reason of claiming that this site is my site and to implement contrast and thus, it is why the skin is appropriately named Hidden Messages.
Anime - SE Lain
Made - 4th of July, 2004
Rather self explanatory, this is a blend of the main character from a beloved anime series - Serial Experiments Lain. Due to the almost arrogance of the previous skin, and interest in the Anime, Lain, I blended the pictures (source forgotten, but they were publicly available on numerous sites, so for the sake of crediting.. Google.com)
Predilection
Made - 13th of July, 2004
Features Ryuichi from Gravitation, a Shounen-ai anime about a singer and an author. Sakuma Ryuichi is the ‘idol’ of the said main character singer, who is coincidentally named, Shindou Shuichi. This is yet another blend of images, of which, most of the images may also be found at Dare to Dream, a Gravitation fansite that I highly recommend. In terms of graphics, this is not my best work, but I like the layout regardless, if only because it features my favourite character.The name Predilection comes from the song sung in the anime by Ryuichi’s band, Nittle Grasper, which can be found on the 3rd Sound Drama of Gravitation.
Blind Game Again
Made - 30th of August, 2004
Features a broken ragdoll which I drew up using gradients in Paint Shop Pro 7 and shadowed in Adobe Photoshop 7. The name comes from another Gravitation song, which instead, is by Shuichi’s band, Bad Luck. The layout is a mix of airbrush and pen tools and is composed of a fair few number of images. Intially, it was a horizontal layout, but due to overscrolling, it was reverted to a vertically scrolling layout.
Last Christmas {flash}
Made - 25th of December, 2004
It is a flash layout due to the use of a changing header image which features two elf drawings which I drew previously in OpenCanvas Plus 3 using my newly acquired tablet. It also features a song by Savage Garden, called Last Christmas, which is the basis of the layout. The layout was made to celebrate Christmas, and is kept as a skin only because of its musical influences and the odd use of different, though not fully w3 supported techniques.
How far Dee fallen
Made - 1st of March, 2005
A photomanipulation/airbrush/vexel grunge attempt using two stock photos from Lucias-tears and some brushes from a location that I no longer remember. It was made in Paint Shop Pro 7 and features a fallen fae elf, who has been named Dee, due to the use of the previously mentioned brushes.
